Senior citizens support
The IRCS NHQ requested the Red Cross State Branches to develop a program and support senior citizens and the elderly. Keeping this objective a "Project of supporting lonely aged people was started in Shrirampur Dist. Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. For this project a team of sixty members are appointed, they will survey communities and identify the beneficiaries who would be assisted with daily life essentials and other medical needs on case basis. Indian Red Cross Society Shrirampur Sub-District Branch Vice- Chairman TahasildarMr.Prashant Patil has taken this initiative.
OPD Services and medical camps
Indian Red Cross Society Pune District Branch have OPD facilities at their M G Road and Rasta Peth Branch including Radiology department at concessional rates.Ophthalmic procedures, physiotherapy, Psychiatry, ENT, Pediatrics, orthopedics, skin ailments, general checkupspathology tests and minor surgeries are performed.World Red Cross Day, Health day and Thalassemia day are observed with medical camps and free distribution of medicines with street plays on Swachh Bharat and other themes. Junior and youth Red Cross volunteers coordinate the activities on the event day. On major festival days, pilgrims are assisted with medical and first aid.
Indian Red Cross Society Ulhasnagar Sub-District Branch has OPD and other facilities. Ophthalmic, radiology, pathology cardiology, skin ailments, ENT, General physician including surgeons etc. Consulting doctors of various specialties offer honorary services. The Branch levies concessional charges and also on gratis basis. Blood donation camps, diabetes detection and blood pressure, thalassemia, thyroid camps are held periodically.25th December is observed as an Annual Blood Donation Day in sweet memory of their Founder Hon. Secretary Late Shri Sakhawatrai S. Chotwani.
Indian Red Cross Society Thane District Branch has OPD and other facilities. Pathology, Dental, Physiotherapy, consultancy by physicians including radiology services.Various camps are organized like blood donation, neuropathy, ECG screening, dental and general health checkup. These camps at times are in collaboration with corporates and local district authorities.
Inauguration of Patil Charitable Hospital, Jalgaon donated by Mr.S.N.Patil andMrs. Jijabai Patil. The hospital gives services at low cost through the Indian Red Cross Society Jalgaon District Branch operated Patil Charitable Hospital in Waghnagar aswell as surrounding areas. Patil Charitable Hospital was inaugurated by Mr. KishoreRaje Nimbalkar-Secretary-Assistance and Rehabilitation, Secretariat, Maharashtraon 10th March 2019, Mrs. Sangeeta Raje Nimbalkar and District Collector Jalgaon and RedCross President Dr. AvinashDhakane gave a warm welcome to all.The Hospital is a two storied building at about 1800 square foot area having OPD,IPD and medicine services
IRCS Maharashtra State Branch is a registered entity for undertaking CSR activities by the Government of India so that it can attract CSR funding from corporates and other organizations
